Rethymno
Welcome to Rethymno
What is Rethymno best known for

Rethymnon City
Rethymnon is a lovely seaside city on the north coast of Crete. The old town is located in the city center and features beautiful architecture influenced by the Venetians who ruled the island between 1205 and 1669. Rethymnon’s most popular attractions are the Venetian port and the Fortezza Castle, which is located on Paleokastro hill, right above the city.
Preveli
Located on Crete’s south coast, approximately 40 kilometers from the main city. The palm tree forest that surrounds the river that crosses the Kourtaliotis Gorge and flows up to the Libyan sea is what makes Preveli unique. In the 1960s and 1970s, the exotic beauty of Preveli drew hippies from all over the world.

The Pirate’s Fjord
The pirate’s fjord is a long and narrow cove located 33 kilometers south of Rethymnon. The fjord was named after pirates who sought refuge in its small bay during the Byzantine era, which is only 2 meters wide.
